What’s eating The Sin City Siren

All week I’ve been thinking about how to write about the third anniversary of Dr. Tiller’s death — an abortion provider in Kansas who was shot dead while he was in church by an anti-choice terrorist. Meanwhile, the HERvotes blog carnival for the Paycheck Fairness Act is today, too.

So, to recap: The hyperbole of the “War on Women” label, in fact, sometimes really does have casualties. And if you are a woman, you aren’t getting paid for shit (and why should I be insulted by that?).

Excuse me if I’m not all rainbows and sunshine this week.

Normally, I can channel my outrage about these things or even find a kind of a meaning. Or at least some good-old sobering truth. But today, I’m the one who needs the pep-talk. I’m probably not supposed to admit this, but I’m tired of this shit.

PS: Don’t think that this means I’m out of the fight. I’m just pissed off that I have to keep fighting these same battles over and over again.

  1. Your posts inspire me, they enrage me, they educate me. If nothing else, by continuing to fight these same battles over and over, your helping to organize the troops.

I shall, and will continue to read and support, forwarding to those I think need to see these postings, the funny, the angry and the tired.

You are so much better than dealing with my own cramps any day…;)

  2. We all have moments we need to regroup, it’s easy to get discouraged when looking at a big messed up picture. Focus on one success at a time, even if that means enlightening one mind at a time and progress will happen.

  3. Dear emmily, you have been on the front lines for a long time my friend. It is ok to be tired. Your blog encourages me.
