What follows is a series of posts written by survivors of sexual violence. Written as letters to our younger selves, each of these posts offers advice, encouragement, validation, heart, and I believe, hope. Each writer has their own story, just as every survivor has a unique story. And like our stories, the advice and wisdom that we need in our healing journey may be different for each person.
I encourage you to read these stories. Sit with these stories. For allies, let the stories help you better understand how to best be our partner in healing and justice. For fellow survivors, look on these as lighthouses in the storm. We are doing our best to show you the way to where you are going. You can and will heal. Your capacity for wholeness, health, vitality, strength, and, yes, love, is not only inside you, but will be your assets in your journey.
We can’t control the weather on this trip, but maybe these will help smooth out some of the bumps along the way.
Naturally, I want to offer a TRIGGER WARNING here. Some of the content may be disturbing or triggering for survivors.
