Today Fem2pt0 is trying to turn the web — or at least Facebook (is there any difference anymore?) — purple in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month. The Sweet Love Because Love Shouldn’t Hurt campaign is going strong in DC today, but we can all get in on the action and post pics of ourselves clad in purple. It’s a good reminder that life is sweet when we can live safe, independent, violence-free lives. And it’s an even better reminder how important it is to be there for our loved ones who may be in crisis. Sometimes the visibility of open and accepting people is just what a person in a violent situation needs to give them the courage to seek help and end a scary situation.
