After stalling out more than once, we’ve got some new momentum going to finally, finally, FINALLY reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. You can thank House Republicans for putting the kibosh on VAWA and leaving it to expire for the first time in its history. Now there are 60 Senators signed on to a renewed VAWA. Here’s hoping it makes it past the House this time! And without anyone trying to strip it of protections for Native American women, LGBT individuals, or immigrants. We don’t need to create sub-classes of women who get no protection under the law. A vote could come any day now, so there’s never been a better time to get to know our delegates and let your voice be heard (find yours here)!
