Want to get on the ground on health care reform? Want to make sure that women’s issues are not evicted from the discussion? Want to do more than just throw spaghetti at your TV everytime someone says Obama wants to kill old people?
Here’s your chance! Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada is looking for a few (or a lot of) good peeps:
You may have heard that there is a national move to reform health care. Planned Parenthood wants to make sure that women’s health and family planning are included in the reform package that President Obama and Congress are working on. In order to do so we are building teams of volunteers who are willing to call their representatives in Washington D.C. and let them know that this issue is important to their constituents.
Volunteers will be added to an email list and we would be contacting our team about 5 or 6 times over the next few months. The email would include their representatives contact information and a few talking points. When volunteers receive the email, they will be asked to make a quick phone call in cooperation with a concentrated effort across the state. We are also asking that volunteers try and get 3 friends to make the same call, if possible. Anyone interested should contact Annette email@example.com and include their name, address and phone number to be added to the list of volunteers. Any questions can also be directed to Annette.
Other volunteer opportunities are also available for anyone who is interested in taking a more active role in fighting for Women’s health care in Nevada! We need phone bankers and people to help with events, etc. Please include a note in the email expressing an interest in volunteering in other ways if you wish to join us.
