On Monday, Dec. 3 you can let the Department of Energy know exactly how you feel about a nuclear waste dump in our backyard. Officials will be hearing public comments during their meeting from 4-7 p.m. Let ’em have it! The meeting’s at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
In addition, Erin over at the Nevada Conservation League, tells me that you’ll have another swing at it on Wednesday, Dec. 5 when the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Pre-Licensing, Pre-Application Presiding Officer Board (whew, that’s a mouthful) meets to decide if Yucca Mtn. will be certified as the nation’s nuclear waste repository. Seriously, this is your chance to speak out. The meeting is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Las Vegas Hearing Facility, Pacific Enterprise Plaza(Bldg. 1), 3250 Pepper Lane.
