Wanted to be sure to share that I am leaving CityLife, in case there was anyone who doesn’t know by now. My last day is Friday. (I do have a story in this week’s edition, out tomorrow.) I’ve had a really good run there and had a lot of fun, even won some awards here and there. But things in my life have changed and I have an opportunity to follow another dream. In other words, I’ve got a half-finished novel that I’d like to actually see through to the end, among other projects. Thanks to my amazing, supportive husband I’m getting that chance now.

I’m excited and nervous. It’s always hard to change your life. And frankly there was nothing wrong with how my life was going, so I might be crazy for doing this. Being a full-time journalist was awesome and I know there are going to be times I’ll miss it. But for now I’m going with the thrill of this new adventure. I’m daring to dream of another life. And that life will include this blog, activism and of course plenty of time sitting at my computer writing.
