What is the best of SCS?

It’s been quite a week here at Siren headquarters!

First, let me just say that you never stop amazing me. Thank you to all of the many, many, many people who have contacted me in these past days. Thank you for sharing your passion about The Siren with me. Thank you for all the support that has been pouring in. My email inbox has 1600 unread messages — so please be patient with me!

And for my unhappy readers, I hear you. I understand why you are upset. Change, while inevitable, is hard. I think it’s natural and healthy to get mad that something you like is going away. If you can believe it, it’s hard for me, too. I am really going to miss being involved in your lives, the conversations we have here and in other social media corridors. I will miss being on the ground floor of so much that is going on in the progressive and feminist communities. Have no doubt, I will miss SCS and I will miss being The Sin City Siren. But my energy and resources are finite. 2013 was a banner year for SCS and I would rather bow out gracefully.

The good news for all of you is that curtain bow isn’t here just yet!

In fact, there’s quite a lot to do until we get there. In the next few weeks I plan to announce a crowd-funding campaign to publish an anthology of SCS posts and behind-the-scenes tales. And, of course, celebrate! I could not in good conscience leave The Siren without toasting the ol’ girl and sending her off right. That should make for an exciting January (and possibly early February) — so you’re not quite rid of me.

In the meantime, I want to hear from you! In fact, I’m counting on you to help me create a book you’ll not only want to buy (yes please!), but read! Please take a moment or two and share your thoughts in this four-question survey. This will help me better determine the best of the best to include in The Sin City Siren anthology!
