Hundreds of Nevadans to Celebrate Domestic Partner Law Tonight

Hundreds of Nevada’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) community, their families, friends and supporters will celebrate the passage of SB 283—Nevada’s Domestic Partner Law on June 25, 2009—Tonight.

Who: Nevada GLBT community, Friends, Families, Supporters.

What: A celebration of the passage of Nevada’s Domestic Partner Registry Act and the people who diligently worked to make Nevada the 17^th state to legally recognize GLBT relationships,  providing registration for all couples statewide beginning October 1, 2009.

When: Thursday, June 25, 2009 5:30PM to 8:00PM.

Where: Rio All Suites Casino & Hotel Pavilions 8&9 (Enter through the Pavilion Rotunda) –3700 W. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89103 (Entrance to the Pavilion rooms is from the East parking lot.)

***Special recognition will be presented to Senator David Parks, the sponsor of this landmark law, Gary Peck, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union; Jan Gilbert, Northern Nevada Coordinator, Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN); Julianna Ormsby,  Nevada Women’s Lobby and Jan Jones, Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs for Harrah’s Entertainment.
