As many readers know, I am a member of the Nevada Women’s Lobby steering committee. I got involved because I want to help make a difference in the lives of women and children in Nevada. I chose to work with NWL because they share my values, including reproductive rights and equality for LGBT families.
I can’t think of a better organization to get involved with as we head into what will likely be one of the most combustive and tense legislative sessions in Nevada’s history!
Try it on for size by becoming a fan on Facebook (if the link doesn’t work just search for “Nevada Women’s Lobby” on Facebook).
And read up on what we’re up to through the NWL blog, which is written by our incredible lobbyist Julianna Ormsby (who’s posted to The Siren, too). She’s going to be doing live posting throughout the legislative session!
Want to take it to the next level? Attend our Grassroots Lobby Days in Carson City, a great chance to get face-time with your representatives.
NWL is a great organization and a great way to answer President Obama’s call to service.
