On Friday I helped register new citizens to vote following the new citizenship ceremonies at the Federal Building. It was so awesome! Sometimes the people, holding little American flags, came right up to us as soon as they got out of the ceremony because they were ready to get registered! It was amazing and sort of emotional for me. A few times members of their families took pictures of them registering to vote! Isn’t that awesome? I wish everyone had that kind of enthusiasm about participating in the democratic process. We could all learn something from our country’s newest citizens.
