If you know of a good sex story published in 2007 in Las Vegas, submit it for The Sexies.
The Sexies, or Sex-Positive Journalism Awards, are looking for a few good sex stories.
Apparently, mainstream media hasn’t done a good job of covering sex.
Rather, it hasn’t done a good job of covering sex in a positive way. Typically, sexed up stories make S&M seem freakish and swingers seem irresponsible. Sensationalized sex dominates newsstands.
The Sexies, whose advisory board includes The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom and The Center for Sex & Culture, would like to reverse this media trend by rewarding responsible, fair reporters with an award for telling stories in an unbiased way.
The story doesn’t have to be all about sex, but when it comes into play, The Sexies judges (including popular sex advice columnist Dan Savage) are looking for sex to be told in a positive way, challenging stereotypes and informing the general public.
For more info, visit sexies.org. They’re accepting submissions until March 23.
