Well, it was bound to happen eventually. Hillary Clinton does something that makes her a target for thinly veiled gender slander. (I mean aside from having breasts and a vagina.) Now Clinton is caught tearing up on the campaign trail and John Edwards is the guy who pounces first. (sigh) I am so weary of this campaign season already and we have miles to go before we sleep.

You know, this actually makes me want to vote for her a little bit. She actually seemed like a person there, and not an automaton.
What the F is wrong with tears, anyway? That’s what I want to know. Just because someone has a stone-cold poker face doesn’t mean they’re not emotional inside. So this whole ‘showing emotion = not able to make a good decision’ thing is crap. Clinton seemed pretty eloquent to me, despite the fact that she was teary.
And, as my husband pointed out to me, even if the tears are a calculated move on Clinton’s part (which isn’t beyond the realm of possibilities), it’s Edwards who winds up looking like a chump.
