Just a friendly reminder to consider the three earth-friendly Rs as we end the season of mass consumerism and gluttony: Reuse; Reduce; Recycle. (Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, Americans throw away an additional one million tons of garbage each week, including all those pretty wrappings.)
If you already feel like you’re under the bootstrap of your resolutions, here’s something easy: Recycle your Christmas tree. Approximately 250,000 trees are sold in the Las Vegas Valley during the holiday season but only around 3 percent are recycled. As long as your tree is free of tinsel and other debris (and is NOT flocked), you can get it recycled at The Springs Preserve for free until Jan. 15.
