I’ve stayed relatively silent about the Sotomayor business. I already said I think she is an intelligent pick by Obama. She has an incredible three-decade track record and she is the very essence of the American Dream (born to humble circumstances and has risen beyond her status through education and hard work, while facing discrimination based on her gender and race). What more can I say? The confirmation hearings have been a farce and have exposed the deep roots of our country’s racism and misogyny.
