Late yesterday, the day before the last day of the Nevada Legislature’s regular session, both houses successfully voted to override Gov. Gibtard’s veto of SB283, the domestic partnership bill. This means that the bill will become law! This makes Nevada the 17th state to legally acknowledge same-sex couples’ rights. (The law will set up a registry for same-sex and opposite-sex couples that will give them similar rights to married couples.)
What a beautiful thing to come home to yesterday! I have never been happier to be a Nevadan!
