- The CDC is reporting that for the first time in 14 years the teen birth rate is going up, particularly among those aged 15-19. I like what our local Planned Parenthood had to say about it: “In the last decade, more than $1 billion has been wasted on dangerous abstinence-only programs that deny teenagers life-saving information,” said Annette Magnus, Public Affairs Coordinator for Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada. “It’s time to put that money toward real solutions that will help prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections among teenagers.” Well put and ’nuff said.
