The sad thing about Las Vegas is that there isn’t a whole lot of activism.
BUT, there IS activism – and, because of the low volume, your involvement is that much more important. You can make a real change.
So, go and get involved with one of these fine activities happening later this month:
1. Protect Women’s Health Saturday is a free one-day, hands on political action training. Learn effective activism techniques like phone banking and canvassing. Then try out your new skills. This training will also give you information on the January 19, 2008 presidential caucuses.
To get involved with Protect Women’s Health Saturday contact the fabulous Annette Magnus by emailing her at annette.magnus[at]pprm.org or calling her at 702-878-3622.
2. The first official meeting of the Monologos de la Vagina crew will be on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2pm (details below). Monologos de la Vagina will be Las Vegas’ first Spanish incarnation of the popular Vagina Monologues. Get involved and help make this happen!

3. This isn’t activism, but it’s a cool event that you might want to consider supporting, attending and enjoying. SISTER SPIT, an all-girl spoken word roadshow, will be making a stop in Las Vegas on Friday Oct. 19 at 7pm.
